4th Congressional District Democratic Executive Committee

The 4th Congressional District Democratic Party is led by an Executive Committee comprised of:​

  • Elected officers, including: District Chair, 1st Vice Chair, 2nd Vice Chair, 3rd Vice Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer

  • Two representatives from each of the seven constituent counties

  • Elected representative from each of the affiliated organizations of the North Carolina Democratic Party

  • Appointed District Chair for Minority Affairs

  • Democratic Congressman David Price

  • Residing officers of the North Carolina Democratic State Executive Committee

  • Residing members of the Democratic National Committee

The Executive Committee generally holds a standing meeting on the second Saturday of every month. Meetings are open to all Democrats who reside in the 4th Congressional District.

Congressman David Price

Congressman David Price represents the 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. Representative Price has served the 4th Congressional District since 1987, with a brief hiatus between 1995-1997.

Congressman Price serves as Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies and Chairman of the House Democracy Partnership. Price also serves as a member of numerous House committees, including the Appropriations Committee, the Budget Committee, the Subcommittee on Homeland Security, and the Subcommittee on State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs. In his various roles, Price is known as a strong advocate of public education, access to affordable health care, affordable housing, environmental sustainability, scientific research, and public transportation.

Congressman Price was a Morehead Scholar at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in history and mathematics. Price subsequently earned a Bachelor of Divinity and Ph.D. in Political Science from Yale University.

 

Prior to his election to the U.S. House of Representatives, Price worked as a professor of political science and public policy at Duke University. Price also authored four books on the American political system.

4th Congressional District Democratic Executive Committee Officers

The officers of the 4th Congressional District Democratic Executive Committee are elected by the delegates of the 4th Congressional District Democratic Convention in odd numbered years to serve a term of two years. The current team of officers is comprised of:​​

  • District Chair Jesse Goslen of Franklin County

  • District 1st Vice Chair Jan Nichols of Chatham County

  • District 2nd Vice Chair Sharon Brown of Orange County

  • District 3rd Vice Chair Elijah King of Durham County
